Raxon, standing at a mere six feet two inches has always been made to feel inadequate, especially when he's compared to his beautiful, brilliant brothers and dragon-lord father. To prove himself he takes on the most dangerous assignments for the dragon council. But when he is betrayed and made outcast, Raxon is given a chance at redemption. His mission is to infiltrate the Monsters inK circle. But within that circle is Damien de Marco—a human whose love for Rax burns fiercer than any dragon-fire. New-to-me author Ms. Cooper captures my attentions and holds it. This story is the eighth book in the series and whilst it can be read as a standalone, it is recommended to read the series in the correct order.

Raxon is a disgraced dragon slumming it with other outcasts on Earth. There is one way for him to bring himself out of the mess--he needs to spy on the renegade Monsters inK circle. This filthy group of supernatural beings are hiding amongst humans and they are also mingling with others instead of staying pure within their own supernatural groups. This is unacceptable and must be destroyed. No exiles may find happiness. Raxon is in a unique position to bring this misguided group down.

Raxon's mission as a spy starts to feel wrong after he makes his first friend, Damien de Marco. Let's be real. Damien is adorable and irresistible. He embodies the best in humans which also includes a certain naivety. Raxon and Damien's mating dance is what pulls a reader in. The two of them are talking different languages in so many ways it is fun to watch as they try to figure each other out. The chemistry is definitely there and Ms. Cooper paints a vivid picture when these two finally come together. The conflict and struggle the two go through in this story pulls a reader further into this magical world.

The descriptions in this story are well done as I can easily see the scenes and characters in high definition. This well-established world is one to marvel and explore. For those who are just starting this series with this book, there is going to be a strong urge to rush and buy the preceding and following books to this one. This is the kind of paranormal romance which brings a satisfied smile to the reader's face when all conflicts are resolved. The characters are enchanting, the humour is good and the sex is hot. Recommended to m/m dragon lovers who seek happily ever afters.
