It was easy to fall in love with a Larsson—seriously who could resist any one of those boys? And while each them had taken turns featuring as Maya's adolescent crush, there was only one of them who had been her best friend.
She'd loved him the most, convinced they'd be friends forever. Which might have happened if Maya's father hadn't been a shady criminal with a mistress on the side.
Banished from L.A. meant leaving her old life behind, forgetting those perfect Larsson boys and her best friend. And forget about all of them she did. Well, up until her fancy law degree landed her an awesome job back in the city she'd once called home. And boy was she glad to be home.
Oh, and her old BFF? Not only had Alex Larsson gotten a fancy law degree of his own, but he'd turned into the hottest man she'd ever seen. And what she wanted now couldn't be further from friendship if she tried.
Did she risk tainting the memory of the purest, most amazing relationship of her life for the "possibility" of more?
Yeah, some things are worth the risk.
And Alex Larsson, was one of them.

"It was easy to fall in love with a Larsson--seriously who could resist any one of those boys? And while each them had taken turns featuring as Maya's adolescent crush, there was only one of them who had been her best friend. Alex Larsson."
So what happens when best friends, separated by more than 10 years, suddenly come together again? Sparks, that's what. So many sparks and not a fireman in sight. In #1 LOVE by T. Gephart, we are treated to a friends to lovers contemporary story that is filled with all the angst and humor one might hope for in a romance.
Maya needs a clean slate. Having spent her mid-teen years under the dark cloud of her father, Maya is ready to start fresh and meeting back up with Alex Larsson isn't on the agenda (he knows her secrets and she's put their friendship on a pedestal that she doesn't want to knock down). Until it is. And if their initial dialogue is anything like what it would have been like for them growing up, I would love to read that book too.
Likes: The humor. Seriously, I wish my conversations with others sounded like that (the ones in my head are hilarious)—the banter coupled with Maya's internal thoughts kept me grinning. The sexual tension is the right tautness. And the romance will give you a case of the feels. I'd be remiss if I didn't point out Maya's besties because you know they have her back.
Dislikes: About mid-book, the story picked up its pace and there were times, I did wish it would slow down a bit as I really enjoyed how Ms. Gephart built Alex and Maya's relationship making their camaraderie seem so effortless (even though we know that isn't the case).
Overall, this is a fun read. If you're looking for an enjoyable summertime read that will leave you feeling good and smiling with the right amount of angst, then check out #1 LOVE.
