A sex demon as a lover may not always be as he appears. A follow up to Soul Infection, this story should be read in the order it was written. Reading this as a standalone is not recommended.

After a few passion-filled nights, Tristan is determined to free Jarek from his servitude. Unfortunately, there are strings to freeing Jarek that bring Tristan to the attention of some dangerous people.

This story is short and feels unfinished and unresolved. I had hoped to learn more about the magical school. Or to see if there will be a day of reckoning for the abuses at the magical school. No such luck. There is a character from another book who is from Tristan's past that causes some problems. The scenes feel abrupt and cut off because there are more questions than answers. And there are no resolutions for Tristan. What he hoped to accomplish backfires because does he really understand and know the real Jarek?

At the end of this book I'm left bereft and a romance gone wrong. Is there going to be more in this story? Will Jarek and Tristan get a happily ever after? Will Tristan continue to pay for the sins of others? There is so much potential for this world. The characters are riveting. The initial plot is intriguing. Where is the rest of it? Hopefully Ms. Ross will continue fleshing out this world.

This paranormal romance is recommended to m/m readers who enjoy star-crossed lover themes.
