Ready or not…love will find a way

Single dad Hogan Guthrie is getting his life back on track, and working as the "barbecue master" at a local diner is just a temporary detour. He and restaurant owner Violet Shaw constantly butt heads…until one night they end up mingling other parts instead. Hogan thought he had the recipe for happiness all figured out. But loyal, carefree Violet is daring him to trust his impulses…and see just how sweet small-town living—and loving—can be.

Nathan Hawley traded his SWAT team credentials for a sheriff's badge, but a gorgeous new neighbor is shaking up his orderly life. Nathan has a hunch there's more to Brooklin Sweet than meets the eye—but given her caution about getting involved, he has his work cut out for him. Still, there's something about the elusive beauty Nathan can't walk away from—and helping her come to terms with her past might pave the way to the future they both secretly long for.

WORTH THE WAIT is sweet and romantic and steamy, and you get two stories for the price of one! The main characters are Hogan and Violet, and much of the book was devoted to their romance, while the other couple was Nathan and Brooklin, who get a little bit lesser time, but their romance was no less intense or complete by the end of the book.

I absolutely love Violet. She's sexy and fun, and I totally love her interactions with Hogan and their witty, sexy banter.

Hogan touched her cheek. "I'll shower with you, okay?"

Pressing a hand to her breast, she said, "Lordy, sugar. Talk like that will stop my heart."

He had to smile. "I'll be right behind you."

...She whispered, "Behind me, huh? You know, I think I just might enjoy that."

He groaned. "Now I have to drive with a boner."

These two have great chemistry together, and you can feel the sparks sparkling off the pages. But there's also the emotional component as well, and we see how the author slowly led these two, especially Hogan who has many baggage, into going beyond the physical.

Violet...definitely cared about Colt [his son].

Did she care about him?

Did he want her to?

"What is it, Hogan?"

He lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles. "Nothing." But it was something. Something that scared him half to death.

Love Lori Foster's writing style as it was very easy to read, and the story just flows. She sucked me in and made me get invested in her characters that I just didn't want to let them go when I reached the last page. This book is certainly worth the wait! Hopefully though, we'll soon get a book #3. In the meantime, I think it's time for me to go look for book #1.
