BDSM, Erotic Romance

Condemned to the dark depths of the prison and the care of her cruel trainer, Lydia finds out the truth behind the country that has enslaved her. At its heart is a cartel of sadistic rulers who love nothing more than to spend their ample wealth and time training inmates like Lydia as bondage and sex slaves.

Transferred to a secret mansion, Lydia is forced through numerous ordeals of extreme rubber containment, fiendish technological torment, punishment and submissive servitude to the guests of the palace, and slowly, she begins to succumb to the seductive lure of enjoying her position as the personal trained pet of the mysterious president.

BONDAGE PALACE implies a story of sexual slavery with perhaps plenty of rope, stocks and chains.

Lydia is in a dungeon under the sadistic tutelage of cruel women. She dances underneath the lash and learns to sexually appease whomever is dominating over her.

While the story concept is erotic and hawt, the writing itself is not. This isn't my first story by Mr. McLachlan. He writes books about humiliation and SM. This combination usually works quite well for me. However, in this story, his writing style is off for me.

The sexual torments and training are the highlights. It should be panty-wetting goodness. Instead, I'm dry and left wanting. The story is wordy and frustrating--frustrating in a bad way. Each sexual act is drawn out due to some word choice that makes it hard for a reader to get into and become aroused. An example of his prose is below:

Even while mayhem, Lydia could not help but view her mistress with a licentious stare. (pg. 5)

My recommendation is to focus on the action without the use of many adjectives and adverbs. Instead, describe a scene in a manner which paints a picture in a person's mind. With his salacious mind, the taboo acts perpetrated can be the focal point. Use it to elicit arousal and sexual heat. Build the sexual tension and give guilty pleasure through forced submission. This would help his stories be better received.
